A Natural Mantle Display December 14, 2011
I’m one of those people who doesn’t like to mess with my mantle too much. If you’ve been following us for the past few months, you might remember this gorgeous 12 pane window frame with a sheet music wreath that is currently perched up on our mantle. And it’s not moving. Nope…I love how it looks WAY too much.
(It’s actually changed since I took this picture…there is now a vintage blue lantern and a white pencil starfish to the right of the window pane.) So for every holiday, I simply just add to the display. And I’m really loving how it looks this year ๐
I purchased some garland from Home Depot and placed it all along the mantle, weaving it in and out of the window panes. ย I bought mercury glass mini candle holders from Target that I placed in the middle of each pane.
I love how they look lit up ๐ I also filled my vintage silver pitcher with some of the free Christmas tree clippings I got from Home Depot, as well as some birch branches. HD sells these at $3 for a small bundle.
I have yet to find/make stocking holders I truly love, so I continued to use Command hooks to hang our new stockings. They do the trick, and are easily removable.
I made our stockings myself this year….and no, it wasn’t easy! Post on that to come :/ I placed some more tree clippings inside and hung mini silver ornaments to make them look extra pretty. And excuse that small piece of thread I didn’t trim…whoops.
I kept my vintage lantern and white pencil starfish in place, because I love them so much too. ย Here’s a few shots with the lights on…man, I need a new camera :/
And with them off….
Dear Santa, I would like a nice camera for Christmas. I’ve been a really good girl this year!!! Hope you enjoyed and feel INSPIRED! ๐
Very pretty! The mercury glass goes so well with all the natural elements. Your stockings are also very pretty.
Thank you Elizabeth! The stockings were a real pain to make, but worth it! ๐ Thanks for hanging out!
Oh your mantel looks beautiful and I love those stockings!!
Thank you Alicia! <3 Hope you have a great holiday!
