A Very Merry Pottery Barn Inspired Christmas Tree, Version #2!

December 13, 2011

I really loved our Christmas tree last year. It made me smile every time I walked into the room. I knew this year I wanted to keep the tree similar with its silver, gold, and green theme…but I made some minor updates.

For instance……instead of a tree skirt, we placed our tree in this amazing galvanized bucket I picked up on Craigslist for $20.  The guy must have thought I was insane when I told him I was using it for my Christmas tree.

I think it adds some rustic-ness (not a word, right?) to the sparkle and glam. πŸ™‚ Our tree also does not have a star on the top of it this year. Instead, it’s donned with sparkly branches galore. A little touch of “natural” elements goes a long way.

I continued to use burlap garland throughout, and also kept the gold beads I strung on our tree last year. Rustic and glam = happiness. πŸ™‚ Here’s a shot of our German glitter glass dove from last year…another addition of glam.

I’ve added more sheet music ornaments…including these little glass ornaments with torn up pieces of sheet music inside. An easy DIY project anyone can do! And of course, I reused our sheet music ornaments from last year.

And I also added our German glitter glass ornaments, which really add some sparkle when the tree is lit.

Of course, I couldn’t forget my favorite white pencil starfish πŸ™‚ They are probably the only beachy element to our tree, but I don’t care one bit πŸ™‚

We’ve added some ornaments from our favorite vacation spots this year, but I still think our tree looks like it could be out of a catalog. I guess that’s not a bad thing! Pottery Barn ain’t got nothin’ on me this year (I wish!) πŸ™‚

Here’s a shot of our tree at night….

I love the updates I made! πŸ™‚ Up next, we will be revealing our holiday mantle so stay tuned! πŸ™‚ And also…..

This evening, I have once special request from you amazing followers….our rottie, Mia, has to have an abdominal ultrasound next week. She started being picky at feeding times, but is now eating again with no problems. Everything else with her is normal, but the vet took some blood work today and is requesting we take her for an ultrasound next week. We would SO greatly appreciate any prayers you are willing to send our way πŸ™‚ We thank you in advance!
