His name. March 27, 2013
I was recently discussing baby names with a close friend of mine who is pregnant with her third baby. We both agree that, to us, baby names aren’t fun to choose and that babies should just come with a little “Hello, my name is…” sticker attached (don’t hate us, we just hate making decisions! 😉 ). Some moms and dads might thoroughly enjoy this process, but we do not. Mainly because there are SO.MANY.NAMES to choose from…and then what sounds right, what doesn’t sound right, who already used that name, what name is too common, blah blah blah blah blah…..we find it all very annoying. But obviously it’s something that has to get done (duh), otherwise you’re taking home Baby Boy or Baby Girl whatever your last name is from the hospital!
My friend was saying that meanings of names are important to her, which is also why she is having trouble deciding on the perfect name. The meanings of her two previous children fit their personalities perfectly….like, it’s scary. I laughed at this point in our conversation because Pat and I CLEARLY did not care about the meaning of Landon’s name when deciding on what to call our little man.
Has no real meaning, right?
WRONG.
I told my friend the meaning, to which she replied how incredibly PERFECT it is for our little guy. She said, “Conceiving and getting to the place of having this sweet little boy was such a long uphill battle. But you guys made it and he is your little blessing after a long hard time. It’s perfect!”
So my dearest Landon, I can’t believe how wonderfully, and unknowingly fitting your name is for you. It has been QUITE the uphill battle after losing your sibling, trying for you for months, finally being blessed with you and now having to be on bed rest to protect you…but we are SO incredibly excited to meet you, and we are overwhelmed with our love for you already! We can’t wait to hold you in our arms!
Funny how things works like that 😉
