Apparently I have a thing for stripes lately! I needed a little retail therapy the other day (plus I had a babysitter) and headed into my favorite store, TJMaxx. Now…shopping in a regular store when you’re pregnant can be a little disheartening. I can’t tell you how many cute things I found that I either couldn’t fit into or wouldn’t fit into by the end of the summer. And while I could buy some pieces for next year, what fun is buying clothing if you can’t wear it right away? But when I came across this dress, I knew it could possibly work for pregnancy and after.
There are a few features about this dress that makes it doable during pregnancy. First, it’s tight fitting, but comfortable. I like figure-forming dresses from the second trimester on because they accentuate a growing baby bump (which, in my opinion, is so cute to see!). It’s also longer, hitting me right at the knee. I don’t need to worry about the dress rising up too high in the front from the growth of my bump (which can happen in non-maternity dresses when worn during pregnancy if they’re too short). These two simple features make this $20 dress a total win!
I’m always trying to shop smart, whether I’m pregnant or not, and I want to get the most for my money with any clothing purchase I make. Having this mindset will assure you make the most of your closet!
