One of my favorite things about the start of summer is sharing a birthday month with my son – we are only 3 days apart! Summer birthdays are a blast because the party options are endless! The past two years we’ve celebrated my son’s birthday with a cookout on the beach and had two absolutely gorgeous days (mine has been pushed aside a bit since the little prince was born, which is fine by me because I’m not liking the age I keep creeping towards!). We absolutely love the beach and are lucky to live only a few short minutes away, so I think beach parties will always be how we choose to celebrate!

Hallmark’s Signature is perfect for any occasion, and I’m absolutely loving their summer themed birthday cards. I chose this adorable popsicle card for my son because I knew he would love the bright colors! He also proceeded to use it to shovel sand, so I suppose it serves a dual purpose 😉

The bright colors of this Hallmark Signature card inspired this outfit I’m wearing for our birthday fun! (I find outfit inspiration anywhere!) Summer is all about brights and neons, and I had the winter doldrums for far too long to not take full advantage of the summer season. I mixed my two favorite summer colors, coral and turquoise, with some basic neutrals to really make the colors pop. It makes for the perfect beach party outfit of any kind! This popsicle card really stuck out to me as I was shopping the Hallmark Signature line because of it’s bright pink color. And I think a special occasion outfit should follow suit. I like my outfits to be memorable, just like this unique card. When I found this kimono in store, I knew its bright coral color would help it stand out. I’m usually drawn towards neutrals, but I love adding some color to my summer wardrobe.

I really love that Hallmark Signature allows me to be unique in the cards I choose to give. I’m very selective with special occasion cards because hand written sentiments mean more to me than a simple text or email. Who doesn’t love to receive a fun card?!
