Style // How to Wear Athleisure September 16, 2016
As a mom, I love the athleisure trend. Anything that means I can wear comfortable pants and baggy shirts is right up my alley. I feel like it takes my mom #ootd to another level, even if there is breastmilk on my shirt! Today I’m sharing with you how to wear athleisure and linking up some of my favorite athleisure items for you!
Jogger pants. If you don’t own a pair, I highly recommend. I live in these during the fall season because they’re SO comfortable. I have a variety of fabric styles from cotton to linen, and I love the versatility they bring to an outfit. They’re perfect for a day to night look because you can rock them with sneakers and then switch out for heels (not that I’m doing that frequently!). I love the track pant look of these, and the simplicity of these.
Sneakers. These don’t have to be your workout sneakers, but can be if you choose (although I recommend them being clean!). Whether it be a pair of Converse, Nikes, or Adidas, having a simple pair of sneakers helps you rock the athleisure trend. I suggest having a neutral pair (black, gray, or white) instead of a pair with vibrant colors because that will help avoid the workout look vs. the athleisure look! I personally own these Converse, these Nike Theas, and these Nike Frees (which Landon likes to match me in with his pair here!)
Moto Jacket. I love moto jackets because I feel they can be dressed up or down super easily. Wearing them over a simple tee with some joggers and sneakers makes for an easy and comfortable athleisure outfit. Switch out the sneakers for some heels and you have a comfortable date night look. This one is a personal favorite of mine. I like the gray color of this one instead of a standard black.
A simple t-shirt. Basic tees are something you can never own enough of. Madewell makes some of my favorite basic shirts, but you can’t go wrong with any brand. I love Free People, too, although those come with a higher price tag. I prefer an oversized/boyfriend fit because I feel like it makes the look more casual and comfortable. Adding a graphic tee or a camo print is fun too!
Standard sweater or cardigan. Throwing on a baggy sweater with some joggers or leggings (I prefer my Zella’s over anything!) is also a way to make the look chic! I live in loose sweaters, leggings, and sneakers during the fall and winter. I recently purchased this Zella hoodie and to say I’m obsessed is an understatement!
If you haven’t tried this trend, you’re missing out on all the comfort! 😉

Yep, totally in love with the idea of athleisure. Comfy, sporty, and cute….what’s not to like? I would totally live in yoga pants if I could!!
