When it comes to summer shopping, I like to buy pieces that are versatile all summer long. I feel I get the most in my investment of the item, plus it’s less thinking involved to get ready in the morning. I usually gravitate to a few basic pieces that I love and can wear multiple ways. Today I’m partnering with Macy’s and their 1.State line to show you how to style two Summer Dresses Two Ways!

THE DRESS: V-NECK PULLOVER DRESS

This first dress is literal perfection in my mom wardrobe. A simple black tank dress, not to tight and not too loose, that hits below the knee and has pockets! It’s SO insanely comfortable, and I can see myself wearing this one all summer long. I love the look of a simple tank dress with some sneakers and a ball cap for when I’m wrangling the kids around. 

For a day I’m not wanting to be so casual, this black midi dress pairs well with some lace-up gladiator sandals and a simple straw hat. Everything about this simple dress is perfection, and it will no doubt be on repeat in my closet. The material is lightweight and flowy, which is great for our summer heat and humidity.

THE DRESS: WHITE OFF SHOULDER EYELET DRESS

I also picked up this simple off the shoulder eyelet dress, also from the 1.State line. I loved the eyelet fabric detail, which I think makes it versatile enough to be dressed down for a casual day look. I love the beachy look some espadrille flats and a straw hat creates. 

The off shoulder style of the dress also makes it easy to dress up with a pair of heels, statement earrings, and a straw clutch. I love the off the shoulder neckline because it’s sexy without being too revealing. I thoroughly enjoy dinner dates with my husband MUCH more in the summer than the winter (obviously, it’s warmer!) because we like to dine outside at some of our favorite restaurants by the water. There’s nothing like watching the sunset with a glass of sangria over good food! 

When shopping for a new item in my closet, I always try to think a multiple ways to wear it before taking the plunge. If I can’t think of AT LEAST 3 ways, it’s a no go. This little trick will ensure you create a versatile wardrobe for any season!
