Bellefit Review

April 6, 2018

If you’ve been following along on Instagram stories, you know I started using the Bellefit corset shortly after Austin was born. I’ve been giving you some updates every couple of weeks on how it’s going, but I wanted to put together a Bellefit Review with some tips and tricks for ordering and use if you’re looking to wear one after birth! There’s also a COUPON CODE for you, so keep reading!

Bellefit Review

Life and style blogger Lauren McBride shares her Bellefit review as well as before and afters, plus tips for sizing and answers to FAQs.

What is Bellefit?

Bellefit Postpartum girdles and corsets are medical-grade abdominal compression binders that help women get back to their pre-pregnancy shape and lose the post-pregnancy tummy quicker! It helps with lymphatic drainage, diastasis recti, and it’s great for c-section recovery.

Does it work?

The short answer is yes! Of course everyone’s experience is different, and my labor and delivery was incredibly easy this go around. I say that because I feel like my body in general made healing progress pretty quickly. I’ve been wearing it for around 7 weeks now and I’m impressed with how quickly things have moved back into place. I also felt like my core was supported better while using it, and my core feels significantly different this time around (I remember not being able to flex my abs, and I haven’t had that issue this time). My hips are still wider than normal and I’m still working toward buttoning my pre-pregnancy jeans, but the Bellefit actually makes them fit better and wearable.

Here’s a photo of me 3 days after having Austin (in my Depends and all!)

Life and style blogger Lauren McBride shares her Bellefit review as well as before and afters, plus tips for sizing and answers to FAQs.

How long do you wear it for?

Bellefit recommends wearing it for 12-24 hours, but I wear it anywhere from 8-12. I put it on first thing in the morning and then take It off late afternoon or before my shower. I do not keep it on to exercise.

But what about using the bathroom? Especially post delivery with a big bulky pad?

It’s a non-issue! There’s a clip below that is super easy to unfasten and slide up to use the bathroom. And it’s adjustable if you need room for the bulky pad (although, I recommend some Depends, girlfriend!). I can honestly say I never once had an issue using the bathroom.

How does it feel?

It feels tight but not uncomfortable, AS LONG AS YOU HAVE THE RIGHT SIZE. See my sizing tips below! There are two clasp settings. I start with the outermost clasp and then work my way in depending on comfort level.

How many weeks/months will you wear it for?

I haven’t decided yet! I’m not at the smallest clasp yet on my size Small, so i think I’ll continue to wear it until I can get there. I know things aren’t fully back to where they usually are quite yet, so I figure if wearing the Bellefit can help with that then why not? Bellefit recommends up to 120 days per their website!

Can c-section moms use it?

YES! And I’ve had MANY of you c-section moms tell me it helped you so much! General feedback has been that it actually helps you be LESS sore because it’s holding everything in for you. There are a variety of corset styles, so it’s just a matter of finding the one that’s best for you (their customer service will help you!)

What do you wear under it?

Whatever you want! I wore underwear at first and then a thong. But wear what’s comfortable for you!

You can purchase your own Bellefit corset or girdle RIGHT HERE, and use the code LAURENMC20 for $20 off!

And this is me 8 weeks postpartum after using my Bellefit corset!

TIPS FOR ORDERING

1 // Contact their customer service. Their CS department is amazing and really wants to make sure you have the best experience possible with Bellefit. They want to know if it’s uncomfortable and will work towards making it better for you! When ordering, i highly recommend either contacting them to figure out your size. OR, make sure you fill out their size form on their site! They will ask a series of questions and measurements and then present you with 2 sizes they recommend. Which brings me to #2.

2 // ORDER BOTH SIZES. I know it’s more $, but they have bundle offers (and you can use my coupon code! LAURENMC20 for $20 off right here!). Trust me when I say you need this. I started off in a small and it was incredibly uncomfortable for me in multiple places. It wasn’t until I spoke with their customer service department that I realized I needed a bigger size. They shipped me a medium and it was a night and day difference. My body wasn’t ready for the small yet! Once I wore the medium for a bit and was able to move to the innermost clasp, I tried the small. I can now wear the small on the outermost clasp and will work my way into the innermost clasp. Your body size is changing SIGNIFICANTLY in those weeks and months after birth, so it only makes sense that one size will NOT fit as you change. Trust me, get two!

3 // Wear what’s comfortable. You can wear Bellefit under anything, but I found it even more comfortable under tight fitting pants. Maybe it was because they held everything in more, but wearing leggings or even jeans make everything feel even better.

4 // Use the extender if you need it! They send you a complimentary extender than can be used at the top of the corset, or the strap that goes between your legs. If it’s feeling uncomfortable in either of those areas, try the extender to see if it improves.

5 // If it’s uncomfortable for you, CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE. Seriously guys, the ladies at Bellefit are amazing and SO helpful. I’ve had multiple conversations with them, and they really just want to make sure you’re having the best experience possible! If it’s uncomfortable for you, call them! They’ll work through it with you and exchange sizes if needed.

Don’t forget, you can get $20 off with code LAURENMC20!

I’m pretty pleased with my results, and I plan to continue wearing my Bellefit! It also helps me button my jeans, so no harm in that 😉 If you wore Bellefit in your postpartum days, I’d love for you to leave a comment with your results for other mamas to read! And if you’re considering purchasing, grab yours right here!

LOVE my Bellefit corset! I had a c-section and it has definitely helped me feel more put together – literally – during the early recovery weeks. You kind of feel like you’re going to rip in half after a c-section if you cough or sneeze or move the wrong way and wearing this corset helped me feel like that was NOT going to happen! I also felt like it helped my core muscles come back together and my posture throughout the day. This was my first child so I have nothing to compare it to but I am currently 7 weeks postpartum, still wearing it, and slimming down way faster than I thought was normal so that’s exciting!

Just curious what the purpose of the crotch strap is? It looks extremely similar to the squeem otherwise but the squeem has 3 clip levels and more is a corset vs being marketed at pregnant women.

I’ve been wearing mine for a couple of days noe and I agree that compated to my first pregnancy I already feel like my core is stronger. I’m very petite and normally an XS and even though I didnt gain 33+ lbs during pregnancy (the recommended amount they say on their site when to order up a size) I still sized up to a Small and I’m so glad I did!

I absolutely loved my bellefit! I had a vaginal delivery and started wearing it after two weeks post partum. It worked wonders and boosted my confidence 🙂 I got the side zip version.

    Hi Lauren,

Which one did you get? The dual opening with the side zipper or just the opening in front?

    Thank you!
