It’s time for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! This sale can be a great time of year to score investment pieces and wardrobe staples at a great discount. HOWEVER. Just a little pep talk before we begin. I know everyone and anyone is pushing this sale to you, and it can feel like you NEED ALL THE THINGS. Let me tell you – you don’t. It’s just clothes. You don’t actually NEED any of it. There’s a huge difference between a want and a need. And if I’m being honest, if I hear “you need this” from someone, it’s an automatic turn off and they lose all credibility to me. If an item sells out, it was wasn’t meant to be!

I took a little bit of a different approach in what I’m sharing this year and curated a small capsule wardrobe for you. I wanted to share items I feel are going to give you longevity with your wardrobe and that you can style multiple ways through the season. I put a star (***) next to the items I think are worth investing in from the sale if you’re planning to shop. I’ll be continually updating this post as I browse and try other items!

***VINCE CAMUTO BOOTIES: These boots are hands down my favorite of the sale (as you can see, I’m wearing them in almost every photo). I love the color and the slight western style with the pointed toe. They are comfortable as hell!  Fit: TTS

***SPANX FAUX LEATHER LEGGINGS: Surprise, surprise, these are back! 😉 You know how much I love these leggings, but I’m showing you several ways to style them using Anniversary Sale items! One note I will make – last year Spanx stopped offering their leggings as sale items with sales following this one. Coupon codes no longer worked on Anthro, ShopBop, QVC stopped doing TSVs, etc. I’m not sure if this will happen again this year, but I’m telling you this just incase you’ve been wanting to scoop them up. This is probably the best time and best price. Fit: These run small. // Size: I sized up, wearing a Small.

***BAREFOOT DREAMS CARDIGAN: Surprise! It’s the same BFD cardigan! I love anything BFD, and from what I’ve seen, Nordstrom and QVC are the only two stores to ever really have them on sale. If you’re been wanting one, this price is about the lowest they typically go. I wear them as loungewear and also as a modified bathrobe too, haha. Fits: TTS. // Size: XS/S.

BP. T-SHIRT: This is actually a sleep tee, but I liked the oversized fit for a more casual look. It’s also great to knot at the waist because of the length. Fit: Oversized // Size: XS, but you can easily size down.

NIKE SNEAKERS: If you’re a runner, I *think* these might be great running shoes because of the cushion on the bottom sole. I have a similar pair with a similar sole and they’re fantastic for running at Orange Theory! I also generally just liked this style and color. Fit: TTS, but a reader recommended sizing up one size for running! (went with my normal shoe size)

VINCE CAMUTO BOOTIES: This is another pair of Vince Camuto booties that I grabbed to try out, and I like the overall look of them. They have a perforated detail which is great for transitioning from season to season, and I like where they hit on the ankle. I have a similar pair! Fit: TTS.

I simply switched out the shoes in this outfit! Gives a more casual of a look.

BLONDO WATERPROOF SNEAKER: I grabbed these because they’re similar to my Ecco sneakers (slightly higher!) and waterproof! I love waterproof suede because its less maintenance and they’ll wear much better! They’re not as comfortable as my Ecco, but I do like the style! Fit: TTS.

 

OUTFIT 9

THREAD & SUPPLY WUBBY FLEECE: The highly coveted wubby fleece, now in different colors! The downside to this is washing it – it’s dry clean only. So if you aren’t a fan of that, skip this one! I more or less wanted to show you another way to style the leggings 😉 Fits: TTS.

***HALOGEN TRENCH COAT: I actually might purchase this because I don’t own a trench coat and truly feel it’s a classic coat to have in your closet. It’s really well priced for the sale, too, and I like that it has a removable hood (great for rain!). Fits: TTS // Size: XS

BP. LEOPARD CARDIGAN: I know this is probably going to be a top item this year, and I just wanted to try it! It’s not nearly as versatile as a beige or gray color, so I don’t recommend it for a capsule style wardrobe. But if you love the trend, it’s fun! I just know I won’t wear it because it can only be styled a few ways. I feel it’s one of those items that will be worn once and that’s it.  Fit: TTS // Size: XS.

***SOMETHING NAVY CREW NECK SWEATER: I actually REALLY love this sweater. I noticed it did shed a bit, but I’d probably sacrifice that for it, haha. It fits so incredibly well and I absolutely love the grainy look. It would be great with a plaid shirt layered under, too. Fit: TTS // Size: XS.

***MADEWELL JEANS: Guys! I was so excited to see Madewell jeans on sale! I grabbed this pair of black jeans (I gravitate more towards black in the fall/winter) to try. I love the raw hem, and of course….Madewell’s Magic Pockets! They’re high waisted and SO insanely comfortable. And majorly discounted! Total staple wardrobe piece, highly recommend. Madewell jeans wash and wear SO well. Fit: TTS // Size: 24

BP. CARDIGAN: Look what it is! The ever so popular BP. Cardigan, haha! There’s always this and the Leith one to choose from (you do not need both!). BP. LACE TANK: Wanted to give another outfit idea here, and love the idea of a simple lace tank. I grabbed the fun leopard one, but it comes in solids too. I think a simple satin camisole is a great piece to have in your wardrobe. If you’re looking for a more versatile color, go with ivory or black! Fit: TTS // Size: XS
