Mudroom + Bathroom Inspiration
Vanity and Built-in locker color: Sherwin Williams Smokey Blue
Wall Color: Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace
Having a mudroom space in our new house was one of the top features we were looking for during our house hunting journey. We lacked this space in our last home, which is what made us realize it’s something we considered valuable to our living space. We are very pleased with the size of the mudroom in our new home, and also like that there’s a (full!) bathroom connected to it as well. We’ve decided to tackle this space for our latest renovation, and today I’m sharing my inspiration with you!
My overall vibe for this space was (of course) coastal to flow with the blues and whites we have in the rest of our downstairs. I love the way polished nickel finishes looks against deep blues, so decided to go that route for lighting and hardware. This space doesn’t get too much light, so I wanted to keep my favorite Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace for the walls. I also knew I wanted lighter floors, so I decided to add some contrast with Sherwin Williams Smokey Blue for the locker built-ins and bathroom vanity.
We’ve already started the majority of this project, as the built-in lockers had to be ordered a while back (production time for just about everything is delayed!). I knew I wanted a white-brick herringbone tile, and our friend found this gorgeous sample of Happy Floors French Quarter for me. We are SO pleased with the overall look of it now that it’s installed. I originally wanted shiplap on the walls in this space, but we opted for floor to ceiling board and batten instead and I’m so happy with the outcome. The bathroom is also board and batten, but halfway – I plan to install this really fun palm wallpaper on the top half!
I wanted to balance out the cooler tones with some warm tones, so I’m adding in some natural weave baskets and this beautiful mirror. And of course, some fun accessories! The space is almost complete, I’m just waiting for the decor! Stay tuned!
