Thank you to Rack Room Shoes for sponsoring today’s post!
The boyfriend jean. One of my favorite trends, but also a trend that I know can be really hard to style for some. I completely understand why…they aren’t slimming and actually make your body look bigger! But I have some tips on How to Style Boyfriend Jeans that will make them a little less intimidating to wear and will accentuate your hot mom bod (or not mom bod) instead of hiding it!
How to Style Boyfriend Jeans
Top: Abercrombie // Jeans: American Eagle // Shoes: Limelight Harlee Sandals from Rack Room Shoes // Bag: Lucky Brand
I really like the way boyfriend jeans look with an off shoulder top, but it’s important to wear a slightly elevated heel if doing so. Make sure to roll the jeans a bit to reveal your ankle. This, along with the slight heel, will help elongate your legs! I love the simple heel on these Limelight Harlee Sandals from Rack Room Shoes. The slight wedged heel offers a little lift, but still provides comfort for when I’m with the kids. These adorable sandals are only 39.99!
Jacket: Johnston & Murphy // Top: Nordstrom // Jeans: American Eagle // Necklace: Nordstrom // Shoes: Franco Fortini Aniston heels from Rack Room Shoes // Watch: Apple
I also love to dress up my boyfriend jeans a little bit when I’m going on a date night with my husband or the rare night out with my girlfriends (I seriously need to work on that). Wearing them with a heel like these Franco Fortini Aniston heels from Rack Room Shoes and a dressier top makes them night-out ready, but also keeps it casual for a day look as well. They can even be styled with a pair of pumps and a blouse!
Some additional tips when wearing and styling boyfriend jeans:
Try to find a slimmer fit. I actually sized down in this pair so they were less baggy. The fit was slimmer to begin with, but it’s something to keep in mind if you don’t want them fitting too oversized.
Wear heels. As I said before, wearing heels will help elongate your legs and make you appear taller! Boyfriend jeans can make you look shorter when wearing flats or a round-toe shoe. If wearing heels, I suggest avoiding a closed round toe. Anything pointed or open-toed will make your legs look longer than they are (which is the goal, right?!). Rack Room Shoes has a WIDE variety of heels and sandals for you to choose from, and their buy one get one 50% deal makes it necessary to treat yourself to two pairs!
Cuff the ankles. Again, as I said before, cuff the jeans to reveal your ankles! I like to cuff them 2-3 times, only about as wide as two fingers. Revealing your ankles helps with elongating your legs and frame.
You can always find the latest trends at Rack Room Shoes, and I love their selection for spring! They have a variety of transitional sandals, fringe details, and even subtle colors like gray and olive. They’re always my go-to for one-stop shoe shopping for women, men, and kids shoes because of their Buy One Get One 50% off deal! I can buy shoes for the entire family without burning a hole in my wallet (mom win!). Plus that deal makes it more acceptable to buy yourself two pairs of shoes (how many of you have used the “but there was a sale!” excuse with your husbands?!).
The shoes in this post are less than $100 when purchased together, and as a long time wearer of Rack Room Shoes, I can tell you the quality exceeds the prices! They’ve been a trusted brand in our home for years. Happy shopping!

You pull off this style of destructed jean so well!! I have very muscular and athletic legs, always have, even at my pre-pregnancy size, which was an average 2 (0 at Loft, 4 at Express) and I could just never do it! Love this outfit!
