My Life as a Nurse

  1. I am going back to school in about a year part time for nursing. Starting with an associates in nursing as an rn. Any advice for a newbie nursing student? I am only doing part time school bc i have kids and a daycare until my kids are in school themselves.

    1. Make sure you take some time for yourself because you will feel really overwhelmed at times! Self-care is key, especially as a mom! <3

  2. Thanks for this post! I am currently a nursing student and I have 2 young kids and I am pregnant with our third! I must be crazy, right!? I wish I would have gone to nursing school before they were born but life doesn’t always make sense! Anyway, I love hearing how you juggle everything without your family sacrificing not having you around. You are rocking it, girl!

  3. Hi Lauren! Where did you go to nursing school?

“If you’re crying, you’re doing it right” omg how accurate is this! I’m currently a nursing student (and pregnant) and cry all the time because of the workload!

    1. And this is why I am a nursing school drop-out. LOL It became too much with 2 little ones. I wish I had just gotten a nursing degree the first time around instead of a finance one, but hindsight is 20/20. For now I’m working in a hospital and it’s enough. Maybe I’ll try again once the kids are grown. It’s a great profession, but not for the faint of heart!

I just wanted to give you kudos. I’ve recently started following you and think that you are one of the few down to earth and natural bloggers left. Everything comes off genuine and not staged. Knowing you are a nurse explains so much of your style!! Being a nurse myself for nearly 14 years and with half of that being in the administrative/director role its great to see how you have modified your career to meet the needs of your little ones (especially now that i recently found out i am pregnant and due in April!!). Anyways great work with what you do, I don’t think i would have the patience to be a blogger so kudos again!!

  6. Lauren I’m new to your blog! Currently a Connecticut resident and also a nurse! I loved your honesty from Instagram and can’t wait to start following you! I’ve been in a hospital for a year this March and like you it’s not for me. I start a new journey next Monday at an outpatient cancer center! Loving your blog so far!!
