Nursery Inspiration – Boy

I had been having such anxiety this past week because our gender ultrasound is TODAY and we didn’t have a boy name picked out. Now, I know what you’re thinking….we have SO much time! But I didn’t care about that. We had our girl name solidified and LOVED it, but no boy name. And all I could think was…if it’s a boy, who is this boy?! I have no name for him?! Enter irrational pregnancy anxiety.

So after searching and searching (MAN, boy names are HARD!) we have FINALLY come to an agreement on one. The husband did not make it easy because he had a ridiculous reason to veto whatever name I had suggested. For instance:

Me: What about Dylan?

Pat: That reminds me of dill pickles.

Case in point (I still love the name Dylan). Anyways, we have chosen a name and we are good to go. Anxiety = gone! Here are my favorite finds for our possible baby boy’s nursery inspiration!

 

I love the stripes of this nursery, and the jute rug (which I know they sell at Ikea!). I would of course want a more vintage feel, but an accent wall of stripes could be cute!

I have a similar vintage ladder in my bedroom, and this photo makes me want to use it in the baby’s room instead! Such a cute way to hang baby blankets, which I’m sure we will have a lot of 😉

You’re already aware of my love of the beach and all things nautical, and this inspiration board is right on the mark! Those cute anchor sheets from Restoration Hardware have already been on my list for since I saw them about a year ago. Add in some of my vintage lanterns, oars, and maps and I could whip up a pretty sweet nautical (but not TOO nautical) inspired nursery.

I love this for a safari themed nursery. It’s chic and not overdone, just the way I like it. Those paper mache animal heads could make for a fun (although I don’t remember paper mache being as much fun as it is messy?) project.

I’ve been drooling over this dresser for a while now, and this perfect display that sits atop it. Great inspiration for the baby’s changing table, especially those cute little jute knobs! I sense another DIY project.

This next nursery is a little modern for me, but I specifically love how it ties in some vintage elements. The metal “toys” bin was the first thing to catch my eye because it inspired me to use my vintage mail bin for baby’s toys! Which can be done regardless of gender. 🙂

And last, can we just look at these barn doors?! I may have to make this the hub’s next project. The perfect way to add  a rustic, farmhouse touch to the nursery.

The room will definitely have my beloved vintage touch regardless of gender, that’s for sure. And today is the BIG day! I’ll be pounding orange juice ahead of time to make sure this little babers is rockin’ and rollin’ with his/her legs wide open! 🙂
