Thank you for sharing! I have an 11 year old, an 8 year old, and a 3 month old. I struggled with my first (breastfeeding, sleeping…you name it) and then my 2nd came along and he was SO easy in every area that my first was not. He was a sigh of relief! Then our bonus baby came along and I had forgotten my struggles from before, but it all came rushing back! We struggled (again) with breastfeeding and I felt myself falling into the darkness of PPD. We have worked out our feeding issues and together we are thriving! This is thanks to my fabulous MIL who did so many of the things you listed above! Such wonderful tips! I’m so grateful you have shared your struggles. Motherhood is not easy. Thank you for keeping it real!!!

  2. This post is so true. It’s so lonely. Especially when all of the people that you think are your friends basically abandon you. They visit once or twice but, particularly if they don’t have kids and/or aren’t married, they slowly fade away. In the long run it’s better but it’s a lot of changes that happen really quickly =( Food and help. All the yes.

  3. Thank you for this post Lauren! I’m in the middle of figuring out what the heck I really actually need to put on my baby registry and I’m not gonna lie, I have all three of the items you mentioned above on there already lol, and I was all set to add whichever life saver items you were going to mention…and then I started reading and I felt immediately relieved. Thanks for the awesome reminder about what’s really important! Thankful for the advice from other mamas out there for this new mom to be:) xoxo

  4. Perfectly said Lauren!

Great article! I definitely had all of those feelings as a new mom. Looking back, I wish I would have known these things and offered help to my friends that became mothers before I did. I had no clue. It wasn’t until I became a mom myself that I truly realized what I means to be a new mom and what a new mom really needs. Keep up the great posts!!
