Home // Finding My Passion September 19, 2016
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Tazo® Tea. All opinions are 100% mine.
There’s always a project going on in our house. Always. A lot of them are left unfinished because I’m the type of person who goes from one thing to the next very quickly, but they all get completed eventually. It’s also not easy working opposite schedules with my husband and always having a toddler and baby in tow. For those reasons, I’m frequently asked, “How do you manage to do all these house renovations?”
Well. I just do. I was never great at sports (in fact, I suck quite a bit at them). I was a good dancer, but those days are long in the past. I was studious, but because I had to be. I was never an artist like my mother, and I’m not good at playing music or tennis like my father. It took me almost 25 years to figure out what I had a passion for, and home styling and DIY projects is it. It’s my form of art. It makes me happy. It’s something I feel I excel at (meaning, excel to ME. I don’t really care if anyone else hates my style. It makes me happy and that’s all I care about). I get these visions that I want to recreate and I’m so blessed to be married to a man who helps me bring them to life. It’s not for anyone else. I share these photos of my home on my blog and Instagram feed because of how PROUD I am of my home. But it’s all for me. Sure, I hope to inspire you through my projects. But even if I don’t, it still makes me incredibly happy.
Do you know that feeling? That feeling of sharing your passion with others? That’s exactly it. We all have our hobbies, and this is mine. Nothing makes me happier (well, minus my family and kids) than fixing up a hot cup of tea and setting a beautiful tablescape. Or decorating my mantle. Or rearranging furniture. Or shiplapping walls. Or painting a vanity for my bathroom. The list goes on and on.
I have a project list a mile long, but I’m so excited to see all we’ve accomplished even a year from now. In case you missed it, you can see how we mounted this antique mantle right here!
There’s nothing better than a hot cup of Tazo® Tea to sip on while playing music to get my creative juices flowing. I love Tazo’s Chai Tea for an energy boost, but I’m also a huge fan of their Passion® blend for later in the day (also, so fitting for this post, right?!). It’s deliciously sweet and requires ZERO sweetener. Tazo teas are made with some of the finest quality tea leaves, spices, and botanicals to create delicious blends available right in the grocery store! I always throw a new one in my cart when I’m at the store. Zen™ and Awake™ English Breakfast are the next two on my list!
Stay tuned for some house updates on the blog this week!
