After running into some issues while trying to switch out a mirror, we decided to give our half bathroom a mini-makeover. We had been toying with the idea of updating this bathroom for quite some time now, but decided it wasn’t worth putting a lot of money into it when we probably wouldn’t get much back. Long story short…our condo is basically worth more than what the others in our area are selling for. And seeing as we are hoping to move soon, we didn’t feel like forking over all that cash.
So a mini-makeover it was.
I have no before pictures except for this one. As you can see, I took it as I had already started to paint! There really wasn’t much to show of the area anyway, as we had done nothing to the bathroom in the two years we’ve lived here.
I basically repurposed and upcycled things we had around the house to help give this space a new, updated look. The walls got a fresh coat of a light grey paint to match the existing tile, which is white with a slight grey tint throughout. I kept this neutral white and grey theme throughout the entire bathroom.
I love mixing wood tones and metal. I think it adds layer, depth, and texture to a room. I think people are often afraid of an un-matched look, but that’s really the beauty behind the concept.
It’s really a HUGE difference from what the bathroom looked like a week ago. I’m so satisfied with the results, and even more satisfied that the entire makeover cost us $50. Stay tuned for my upcoming post on how to update your space on a budget!

Btw, In reply to your comment about the glass paint: Go to a shop that sells acrylic and emulsion paint. I think it’s available in Krylon with the name looking glass paint. If you do not find that try any “Acrylic aerosol reflecting chrome” paint. These are the keywords. If you do not find that, buy chrome paint and a sprayer. That will also do.

I love how your bathroom turned out and that little ladder in the corner is to die for… so cute! It reminds me a lot of my bathroom… mine is grey and white too and I have a ladder that I use for a towel rack.
