It is blowing my mind that Christmas is in just a few short days. I feel like it crept up behind me without warning. Christmas hasn’t exactly felt like Christmas the past few years, but I think it’s finally starting to again now that I get to watch it through the eyes of my children. We took Landon on a mock “Polar Express” train ride the other week, and seeing the sheer JOY on his face almost knocked me to the floor from happiness. I literally felt like my heart was exploding as I watch the huge smile on his face sipping his hot cocoa and eating a Christmas cookie. My husband and I wanted to take him again and again and again just to see the look on his face over and over!

I still have gifts left to wrap, and I’m feeling the stress from my house being upside down, but I’m going to make it a point the next few days to TRULY enjoy the Christmas spirit. Today I’ll bake Christmas cookies and read Landon his beloved Cookie Monster Night Before Christmas Book.

Oh, and if you’re looking for a great casual holiday outfit, this one is on the money! I last styled this puffer vest and boots here, but the addition of a red plaid shirt make it perfect for Christmas. If you wanted to go with a neutral top, a plaid scarf is equally as festive! I also just recently bought these Hunter boot socks, and I’m not quite sure why I waited so long because they are so toasty warm. With the addition of some cozy knitted gloves, this outfit is perfect for a casual cold weather outing!

  4. This is such a cute, cozy look–I love the plaid layered with the puffer vest. Those Hunter boots are great too. I’ve always loved Christmas, but I agree that there’s nothing better than seeing the excitement in your child’s eyes, that’s really the best!!
