I’ve seen these pretties all over blogland and have yet to find one during my junking adventures. While browsing the internet (using Swagbucks! Have you heard of them? 🙂 I came across these little cuties from Kmart…

Super cute, but not totally my style with the really bright colors. Nothin’ a little paint can’t fix 😉 I was all ready-set-go to make the purchase when I came across this sweet deal from Ikea..

Cleaner canvas, AND half the price! You bet I was there the next morning. And after waiting in line for a return, having all the registers go down in the store, getting free Ikea chocolate, and then checking out an hour later…my cute little chair arrived home. Yeah. Kind of a nightmare, but free chocolate made it all better.
Initially I wanted to use these chairs out on our patio with a cute table so we can enjoy dinner outside on warm summer nights…but when the hubs sat on the chair I realized they probably aren’t the best for a man to be sitting in. He wanted a chair to relax in, and it’s not exactly the most relaxing chair. So, I scrapped that idea and decided to use the chair for decor instead.
I wanted the chair to have some subtle color, but you know what happens when I mess with that…so after multiple attempts and not getting what I want, I busted out my Krylon spray paint and painted it plain ol’ white. And of course, fell in love with it. Maybe I have an addiction to white, because this seems to always happen! So here’s where we are at now…I placed some driftwood in the back of it, and a rusty gray metal pitcher on top of it with some florals. This gives some color contrast against my white china cabinet and off-white walls.
I love how it looks next to my linen curtains 🙂 Until I find an actual chippy, vintage french bistro chair, this one will do!
