Mom + Baby // Tips For Successful Breastfeeding: As Told From a Former Exclusive Pumper

  1. Our situations seem very similar. I exclusively pumped with my now 2 year old son but didn’t do all the work you did to get him on the breast. I was okay with pumping then and did so pretty successfully for a year. I now have a 7 week old daughter and I vowed to try harder. I feel like I am going through now what you went through with your son. The LC I saw today said my nipples were horrendous but didn’t think I had a breastfeeding issue and referred me to a dermatologist. I don’t want to go in the same circles and still end up EPing again. Any advice at this point for healing my seriously raw, damaged, bright red nipples? And getting back to breastfeeding?

  2. Wow, so great to hear that you are both adjusting well to BF. I had recently had my first baby when you had your son and you were having to EP. I’m so happy to hear that this time it’s different and it’s going great for the two of you. I have a friend who’s currently struggling with BF and i just sent her a link to your posts — i think it will help her to see that she’s not alone in her struggle.

    All my best.
