Whimsical Christmas Mantle

I love having fun with decor in the kid’s playroom – I’m a little more playful with decor in here because I want to make it special for the kids! I recently switched up the kids’ playroom Halloween mantle (seen here) to this fun Whimsical Christmas Mantle!

The starting point to this fun spot is these adorable pom pom stockings I bought from Anthropologie a few years back. I loved the mix of colors and used those colors as a jumping off point for the rest of the mantle. Sadly they’re no longer in stock, but hopefully they’ll bring them back!

I love how whimsical these bottle brush nutcrackers feel – plus they’re on sale right now for under $20 for a set of 2! They’re a fun twist on nutcrackers with their adorable bottle brush crowns. The colors of the trees go with the stockings perfectly!

I wanted to keep decor low since the kids usually watch TV in this room. I added some of this garland mixed with this pretty blush ornament garland and colorful pompon garland for a fun look. The ornament garland is on sale right now – the blush color really brings out the pink in the stockings, and the pompon garland matches them perfectly!

I mixed a variety of bottle brush trees, little white houses, and blue mercury glass votives under the TV. I added some battery-powered flameless tea lights to the houses and votives for a cozy glow. The colors all tie in perfectly together, and the overall look is fun and whimsical. I’d love to add some fun ornaments, too!
