Easy Tips to Not Look Sleep Deprived September 8, 2017
Thank you to QVC and Perricone MD for sponsoring today’s post!
This post is for all the moms out there running on zero fumes! Or maybe that’s just me? I swear I didn’t look this sleep deprived in college! Ever since I had my beautiful kiddos, my energy level and sleep patterns just aren’t the same (and won’t be for quite some time, right?). I’ve learned a few tricks over my 4+ years of being a mom on how to “fake” looking well rested even when I’m not! Today I’m sharing some Easy Tips to Not Look Sleep Deprived in case you need to fake it too!
Use a de-puffing eye cream. Skin prep is a huge step in looking less sleep-deprived, especially the delicate under eye are. Using a de-puffing eye cream, like Perricone MD H2 Elemental Energy De-Puffing Eye Gel will help you under eye area look brighter and more energized. It also helps improve the appearance fine lines and wrinkles; in an image analysis study, 97% of participants showed improvement after ONE week (crazy!!!!). It’s hydrating, yet lightweight, and I like that my concealer still applies normally without sliding off my face mid-day! I’ve been applying a small amount morning and night. Bonus tip: if you keep it in your refrigerator, you’ll get a cooling effect too! You can purchase Perricone MD H2 Elemental Energy De-Puffing Eye Gel on QVC right here!
Color corrector and concealer. The only way my raccoon circles are going away is with a heavy dose of color corrector and concealer. Color corrector might not be necessary depending on how bad your circles are, but I’m prone to dark, dark purple circles under my eyes and color correcting the purple color makes a significant difference when I apply my concealer. This is one step I WILL NOT skip in the morning! I need my concealer!
A coat of mascara. It’s amazing what a simple swipe of mascara can do! Just one coat is all you need to help make your eyes look more awake and you look a little less tired. If you’re blessed with dark lashes (I am not, sadly), you can also simply curl your lashes for the same eye brightening effect.
Drink water! Dehydrated skin does NOT help and makes you look more tired and aged. I make sure I drink a lot of water during the day. I have a designated water bottle with a straw. Drinking out of a straw cup helps me drink more water than without!
A little caffeine. Okay, so this might not apply to everyone, but it surely applies to me! I never needed coffee before I became a mom and now I’m jonesin’ for it as soon as I wake up! I swear, even if I get 8+ hours of sleep (which is a rarity), I still need some coffee or tea. Even if it means reheating it over 3 times!
