So happy for you that you got to go! When you talk about it being magical, I have a great story. We took our kids when my youngest son was 6. We were talking about character meet and greets and he said the ONLY character he wanted to meet was Jiminy Cricket. What the heck? We had NO IDEA where he came up with that – we didn’t even know if he had seen Pinocchio since he was a toddler! Of course, I was panicking because there are no meet and greets for Jiminy Cricket because WHO WANTS TO MEET HIM?!? Anyway, we were there all week and no sign of JC. On the very last day, we were so tired and we sat down on Main Street and just waited for the parade for like 2 hours – we just couldn’t go anymore. The parade started and I kid you not – Jiminy Cricket was in it!! AND, he marched down the street on our side! AND, he stopped in front of my son and shook his hand!!! IT WAS SOOOO MAGICAL! I know everyone has stories like this but it really is unbelievable how magical it is!!

  2. If staying at a Disney hotel take part in the Extra Magic Hour. Hit up the most popular attractions and save your fast passes for later in the day! At Animal Kingdom, you have to see the Lion King play if you haven’t already and also be one of the firsts on the Safari ride at 8AM. All the animals are coming out for the day and we have just had better luck seeing them up close.

And I agree, Disney is magical and never gets old! Seeing your kids meet their favorite characters and watching the excitement and joy on their face, never gets old!

Make sure to look into Rider Swap for your next trip. It would allow you and your two older kids to ride Seven Dwarfs mine train while your husband sits out with the baby and then your husband could go on the ride with the two older kids for a second ride. The kids get to ride the ride twice with each parent. We love Rider Swap. Disney is our family’s happy place. So glad you enjoyed it.

There are some restaurants in Disney springs (formerly downtown Disney) that are incredible, we love the boathouse and raglan road(live music and Irish step dancers)! The buses go there too! Also check out the ice cream sundaes at the ice cream parlor at I believe the beach club resort.
We went in December when my girlfriend got engaged and did mickeys magical Christmas party, similar to the Halloween party as far as limited entry but with hot cocoa and cookies throughout the park.
Magical is the only word to describe the place. 100%

Disney Vacation Club has timeshares you can rent at all the deluxe resorts for WAY cheaper. We just got back yesterday from 7 days at the Polynesian (incredible) and we paid a fraction of the cost. Used the DVC rental store and I can not recommend it more. You get the monorail right at your door still without the like $700 a night price tag.

Did you plan using Disney Vacation Club yourself or did you go through a travel agent?

  6. I love this post so much! Looks like it was such a magical trip! We went with our 2 and 1 year old in May despite everyone saying we were crazy. We were terrified and had very low expectations but it turned out to be the BEST Thing we ever did. It was so great we’re going back in two weeks! They’re still 2 and 1 and BOTH FREE – that includes the character dining, family style restaurants and buffets! If you ask me, going when they’re little is the perfect time to go! One good tip: You can get free ice water at Disney World! Just walk up to any counter service or snack station that serves soda and ask for a (large!) cup of ice water.

  7. Aw, I love this!! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. It looks like you guys had a fantastic time!!

  8. My family loves Disney World & Disneyland!! We have stayed on & off the property but prefer on property due to convenience. My youngest was 1 when we first went. They do have parent swap for the rides that small children can not go on. The meal plan never really worked for us. You need to figure out if it is worth it for your family. Every time we go I place an online order from the garden grocer in Orlando. The prices are a little more than your grocery store but well worth it! They deliver right to hotel & bell hop will hold it until you are in your room. Always bought 3 cases of water because it’s hot !! And always bought cereal & snacks. I would bring plastic spoons & bowls & buy milk at the hotel & keep in the room fridge. Unless you plan a character breakfast its just easier to get out to the parks with little ones. Enjoy every minute. My oldest is now 20 & Disney is still the preferred vacation lol.

  9. Walt Disney World IS so magical!! We loved our trip there this year! I am so glad yall had such a special time – no surprise there!! We are having a girl in February and I cannot wait to go back with both kids and do more of the princessy stuff!!
