Mom + Baby // Thoughts on Weaning

  1. Oh my gosh, I can fully understand you. My daughter is 6 and my son 2 and I was breastfeeding too. Luckily it wasn’t that painful but still it’s hard work! You are tired and have to get up in the nights, it’s so exhausting. Still it’s the best job in the world to be a mummy, I love These Little ones to bits 🙂 Simone from Zurich, Switzerland

  2. Wow, i can totally relate to this post as i am going thru the exact same thing with my 15 month old. She is my 1st andi love the bond that it brings. For 10 months i had to go on a very strict dairy and soy free diet since she was intolerant of it. Not she can handle it but refuses to drink milk. Shes not attached ro anything, not even a pacifier and depends on mommys boob for comfort, milk ect. Im like you, i feel like its getting time but shes not ready and truth is, im not sure i am either! Just wanted you to know you’re not alone!xo

  3. I feel you, mama. My son will be 1 soon. And my goal was a year, but now I can’t even imagine weaning! Mostly bc he LOVES it. But at some point.. it’ll be best. How do you decide when? I was really hoping he would decide for me… and maybe they will! And I totally get the nursing bond, that brings tears to your eyes. Every day, so many times a day, you have shared in this incredible, delicate, sweet, quiet, beautiful time together! It’s precious! And amazing! Be proud! ????????

  4. You wrote all the things I feel! I too had issues breastfeeding my 1st child (due to a birth defect) so I pumped exclusively for around a year. Than had my second who is now 2 and haven’t weaned yet. There is so much outside pressure that I rarely tell people that I am still nursing. I go back on forth of trying to be done and waiting for it to happen. Thanks I enjoy reading your blog! Great job momma!

  5. I remember going through this with my daughter at around 16 months. I still to this day miss that bond, but feel so lucky to have had it. Good luck and treasure your little moments ❤️

  6. Have you tried warming the milk? My son wouldn’t drink cows milk either until we started warming it! Good luck!!
