Rustic Halloween Dining Table Decor October 1, 2015
This post is written in collaboration with World Market. All thoughts, opinions, and images are my own.
Even though my house is completely upside down from our recent move, I wasn’t about to have that stop me from decorating for Halloween. While I am a summer girl at heart, I thoroughly enjoy decorating for the holidays because it allows my creative side to flow! Our actual dining room is currently awaiting new floors, so we transformed our living room into a temporary dining room to have at least one room in order…and I’m so glad we did! With the leaves changing color up here in New England and all things pumpkin spice in stores, it was time to add a little fall to our home.
World’s Market’s Halloween shop has some of the cutest Halloween decor that I wanted to incorporate into a fall dining room tables cape. Now that we have a larger home, I can’t wait to host holiday parties and dinners! Keeping my rustic, farmhouse theme, I used some of my favorite World Market pieces to create this gorgeous rustic Halloween dining table decor.
I’m not your traditional Halloween girl. For one, I don’t like anything scary. And two, I’m not the biggest fan of the color orange. I prefer using orange for accents, but primarily keeping the look very rustic. This means an abundance of white pumpkins, wood grains, and a mix of texture. Strategically adding some greenery to the table and mantle really gave the entire setting an earthy, organic feel. I also always love adding anything flowers, plants, or even food items to make the table feel more natural.
I also love making each place setting feel special for the guest sitting at it to show them how much I value their presence in my home! I always use personalized name cards and include a little something for them to take home…like these mini pumpkins!
Adding throw pillows and blankets to a dining table may sound unnatural, but it makes the entire room so cozy…which is what I want when someone comes to visit. I want them to feel welcomed and like they can curl up and relax. I draped some blankets across the two head chairs and the bench, and even added these fun Halloween pillows to do just that. I love mixing different textures as well. It really makes a difference with decorating!
Of course, I had to decorate the mantle and buffet as well. I love incorporating some of my favorite vintage items I’ve collected over the years, like vintage lanterns, old window frames, antique soda crates, and urns. I think it adds a little vintage farmhouse style. I absolutely LOVE how it turned out!
What do you think? Would you like to come by for a special Halloween dinner? I’d be happy to host you! 🙂

Thank you! Yes, minimal orange so that it’s enough to make a small statement but not enough to overpower 😉
